| Directions: Cut the eggs in half and take out the yolks. Put these in a food processor or a |

Here is a short list of people it is appropriate to tip, and how much to tip them:
* Valet or parking attendant - $1-3 is appropriate for parking or returning the car. It is not necessary to tip for parking, but always for returning the car.

* Food server - 15-20%.

* Hair Stylist or Color Specialist - 10-20%. $3-5 extra for last-minute service.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now...

But trust me, in twenty years, you will look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now, how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked.

COOL TEXTING TRICKS
Sure, everyone is text-messaging these days. But tons of texters don't realize all the really amazing online tools you can use with just about any text-messaging phone. Rick Broida at PC World magazine lets us in on some cool ways to use texting for a whole lot more than just asking friends, "Where are you?"
1. Set up and remember appointments. If you use Google Calendar, send a text with the word "next" to GVENT (48368) and receive details of your next appointment. Google Calendar also lets you add new events via text and sends you event reminders.
2. Track calories and cash. Many Web services offer text alerts and info options. Diet.com can help you count calories: Text any major restaurant chain name and menu item to DIET1 (34381) and you'll get back the stats on calories, fat, carbs and protein. And Quicken Online can send you a text reminder when a bill is due.
3. Try texting with your voice. It's a pain to type on a cell-phone! So, try a free service called Jott -- they convert your spoken message into text and send it to anyone in your contact list. Just call Jott from your cell, say the name of the person, and start talking. It's a much safer way to send messages while driving!
4. Get directions. Go to MapQuest.com before your trip and input your destination. Then, click "Send to Cell" and enter your cell number -- you'll receive a text with directions. If you're not near a computer, send a message with your destination to GOOGLE (466453). You'll receive Google Maps directions (or a map, if you want).
5. Search Google from the road. Google SMS lets you text your way to movie show times and more. Looking for a business in your area? Send the business name (or category, like "pizza") and the Zip code or city and state. 4INFO adds extras like a Wi-Fi hotspot finder. 4INFO will also send text alerts of game scores or Craigslist ad updates.
6. Keep tabs on flights. You can also tap Google SMS or 4INFO for flight info. Just text your airline and flight number to get up-to-the-minute arrival and departure times.
8. Transfer files to your phone. Beam It Up Scotty is a free Web-based service that uses texting to send just about any kind of file to your phone. Just browse your PC's hard drive for the document, MP3, photo or whatever and enter your cell number. You'll get a text message with a link to download the file right to your phone.
9. Send texts from your PC. Just send an email to phonenumber@teleflip.com. The free Teleflip service sends your email as a text to the person's phone. But remember, replies will come to your email inbox, not your cell.
10. Archive your texts. The free utility BitPim copies messages from your phone to your PC. You just need a USB cable that's compatible with your phone. Or check out Treasuremytext, a free Web service that archives messages from your phone-on their website, you can review your messages, add notes and organize them in folders.
Ellis urges Texans to use sales tax holiday for appliances
AUSTIN — A Houston lawmaker on Monday urged Texans to take advantage of the upcoming sales tax holiday to purchase energy efficient appliances.
The May 24-26 sales tax holiday applies to products with the Energy Star rating, including refrigerators under $2,000, dishwashers and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
"This year, people can shop until they drop and be energy efficient," said Democratic Sen. Rodney Ellis, who helped add the measure onto electric utility legislation last year.
The sales tax holiday also applies to air conditioners under $6,000, clothes washers, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers and programmable thermostats.
"This is about giving folks a little break on the up front costs of energy-efficient products so they can save over the long term energy and save money and also help save our environment," said Cyrus Reed a lobbyist for the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club.
In addition to the sales tax, Reed said a programmable thermostat could save a household about $100 a year in energy costs.
This will be the first year for the Energy Star tax holiday.
Some appliances, like clothes dryers and water heaters, will not be exempt because they have not qualified for the Energy Star label.
Ellis said he plans to push for an expansion of the Energy Star products eligible for tax exemption next year.
The Energy Star tax holiday is in addition to the state's annual tax-free holiday for clothing under $100. That holiday falls on the weekend of Aug. 15-17 this year. Backpacks also have been added to the list of tax-exempt items on that weekend.
Ronnie Volkening, president of Texas Retailers Association, said the tax holiday is already yielding benefits to the Texas economy.

How would you like a brand-new car for $2,500? This one is a little over 10 feet long bumper to bumper, can seat four passengers comfortably, has reached speeds of 65 miles per hour and is set to transform the concept of travel for the masses in India and in poorer parts of the world.
It's called the Tata Nano. No, really, that's the name. It was unveiled at the auto show in Delhi recently with all the frenzied excitement that accompanied the launch of the new Volkswagen Beetle in 1994.
Ratan Tata, who is the chairman of the company, revealed a cute, compact car designed to appeal to first-time car buyers in India, one of the world's fastest growing car markets. "I hope this is a car that changes the way people travel in rural and semi rural India. We are a country of a billion people and most are denied connectivity," he said. "This is a car that is affordable and provides all-weather transport for the family."

Exercise sick?
It's often hard to know whether you should keep exercising when you're sick or if you're making things worse. The general rule of thumb when it comes to illnesses is: don't exercise if you have a fever, an upper respiratory illness or the flu. If you have a cold or other light illness, use these tips to decide whether to workout or not:
Follow your doctor's orders.
Listen to your body. If you have a cold, try a light workout. If you start to feel crappy, that's a great time to stop and rest.
Try relaxing activities. If you're sick, the last thing you want is a killer workout. Now is a good time to soothe yourself with some stretching or yoga exercises.
Stay away from the gym if you're contagious. No one else wants what you have.
If you do workout, make sure you're hydrated. Avoid working out in extreme temperatures if you can so you don't get worse and FEEL worse.
Allow time for recovery. Sometimes cold symptoms can linger for a while, especially that nagging cough. Take it easy with the cardio workouts so you don't make it worse and give yourself time to get better.
Remind yourself that your body is fighting an illness. It needs all the energy it can muster for that, so don't take too much away just to get in a workout. In the long run, it's your health that's important...not missing a few workouts.
e-MAIL MISTAKES THAT MAKE YOU LOOK BAD
- Don't write when you're angry. Wait 24 hours. Calm down.
- Don't use sarcasm. You may think you're clever, but it doesn\\\'t always come across in electronic form.
- Don't use all caps. That's the e-mail equivalent of shouting. Go easy on the exclamation points, too. They're not as effective when they're overused.
- Use clear subject lines. That helps people decide whether to read the e-mail now or later. Your recipient will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
- Keep it short. If your e-mail is more than 2 paragraphs, maybe you should call.
- Change the subject line if you change the topic of a thread.
- Don\\\'t forward jokes, virus warnings, etc. unless the recipient has agreed in advance (especially if you\\\'re sending them to someone's work email).

A new program will soon be on the market that allows a photographer (including a camera-phone owner) to use the viewfinder to zero in on nonsmilers and delay the shot until they flash a grin. Aimed particularly at corporate-event and school photographers, the feature will roll out later this year in a major camera brand.
